VGC Charity Tournament - BC’s Premier Women’s Charity Golf Event

Since its inception in 1995, the annual Victoria Golf Club Charity Tournament has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for deserving local recipients.  During the last 10 years, this Premier Women's Charity Event has raised an excess of $600,000 and over the last two years has provided the largest annual gift to the Victoria Women's Transition House. The goal for the 2011 tournament was to raise $100,000 - that goal was successfully accomplished.

This Tournament draws players not only from VGC but from other clubs on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland – often forming teams at their home clubs before registering. The event is regularly over-subscribed with many players looking forward to their annual opportunity to play our unique ocean-side course. They compete for the stunning Ann Frost Trophy - specially created for VGC by Kusak Cut Glass Works in Seattle.

VGC Members of both genders volunteer thousands of hours serving on committees, soliciting sponsors and assisting with operations on tournament day. Many other Members offer financial support as sponors or by donating goods and services for the Silent and Live Auctions (Click here for list of Sponsors/Donors from 2011). And beginning in 2010, Members held their own pre-Tournament Casino Night specifically to raise funds for Women’s Transition House. To read about the 2012 Monte Carlo Gala Night click here.

The VGC Charity Tournament has always enjoyed the complete support of the Club’s Members, Board of Directors (that makes the golf course available) and the Pro Shop & golf services staff who manage the many players’ needs. Credit is also due to the Food & Beverage team for the exceptional banquet that concludes each year’s tournament and the Gala. To see photos from the 2011 event click here.
