Scott's golf career has come full circle. Beginning at VGC in 1986, he started his career collecting range balls and working the back shop with Head Professional Mike Parker. He was promoted to Assistant Professional in 1992 and after six years - and having obtained his Associate Professional status - he departed for a new challenge at Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club in the Okanagan.
Scott was the Golf Shop Manager at Gallaher’s Canyon for five years and created the Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Academy. Advancing up GolfBC’s ranks, Scott returned to the island in late 2002 as Manager of Arbutus Ridge Golf Club where he founded the GBC Golf Academy. Then in early 2006, Scott moved to Ontario to become the first Head Professional at Raven at Lora Bay, where he helped create the Raven Golf Academy. Later that year, Scott was honoured to return home as General Manager of the Victoria Golf Club.
Mike Parker

Mike started as an Assistant Professional with Paul Trapp in 1969 and assumed the position of Head Professional in 1984 when Paul retired.
A long-time supporter of the PGA of BC, Mike served as President in 1984 and 1985 and was named Club Professional of the year in 1986. Mike has also served on the Advisory Board of the Professional Golf Management Program at Camosun College since its inception in 1998.
Mike has helped shape the careers of many who have moved on to become leaders in the industry including; Jim Goddard HP at Cordova Bay, Chris Herkel HP Crown Isle, Dale Broughton at Valley Golf Center John Kadin HP and Tara Roden Academy Director at Gallagher’s Canyon, Ron Gill HP at Leamington, Todd Mahovlich HP at Bear Mountain, Steve Haggard HP at Stone Creek Resorts and Scott Kolb GM at VGC.
Mike has worked at the VGC for over 40 years and is one of the longest serving golf professionals in Canada. In 2012 he was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the PGA of BC.
Paul Robertson

Paul Robertson has over 20 years of golf course management experience. He started as a grounds person at the early age of 14, progressing to assistant at his home course and working his way through university, where he majored in Math/Science. In 2000 he came to us from Summerland Golf Club, where he was responsible for resurrecting its reputation for fast greens and immaculate conditioning. Prior to Summerland, Paul was a grow-in superintendent, bringing several new golf courses from construction to opening.
Paul’s extensive education includes:
• Bachelors of Science;
• Diploma in Turfgrass Management (Honors);
• Bachelors of Applied Science in Horticulture/Agronomy (Distinctions);
• MBA in Project Management from Penn State University (Honors).
While pursuing his education, Paul has received over a dozen scholarships, including the only Canadian student to ever receive the prestigious Mendenhall Scholars award.
Jason Wilde

Jason grew up in Victoria and has been in the F&B industry for over 20 years, joining the VGC team in 2005 as the Bar Manager. He has managed restaurants, nightclubs and lounges in Victoria and Vancouver, and has just received his first ISG Sommelier diploma.
Over the past eight years, Jason has risen through the ranks and is now our Food & Beverage Manager, responsible for all Front-of-House staff and serving standards. Earlier this year, he was chosen to supervise one of the restaurants at Augusta National Golf Club during the 2013 Masters, a testament to his talent and professionalism.
He is an avid baseball player and fan, and he and his wife Jennifer have recently adopted Oscar, a Boxer puppy.
Nathan Waters

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Nathan previously worked as an Executive Sous Chef at the Union Club and Uplands Golf Club, with stints at high-end resorts like Hotel Grand Pacific, Banff Springs Hotel and English Inn, where he trained under celebrated Victoria chef, Richard Luttman.
Promising from an early age, Nathan found his passion for food while helping his dad cook spaghetti at the age of 7. After training at the Southern Albertan Institute of Technology (SAIT), he won the province’s 2003 Apprentice of the Year Award.
Free-spirited in the kitchen and fuelled by rampant curiosity, Nathan has experimented with molecular gastronomy, traditional home cooking and cuisines from around the world. A big believer in supporting small local businesses, Nathan is committed to seasonal menus that feature the best local ingredients that our West Coast has to offer.

Originally from Vancouver, Donna moved to Oak Bay with her family and attended grade school at Monterey. Donna worked as a server at VGC while going to Oak Bay High School. After college, and a three-year stint with Delta Hotels, she came back to VGC to join the Food and Beverage team. She loved working with Members and was promoted to her current role as Membership Co-ordinator.
If you spend any time in Palm Springs you may catch a glimpse of Donna and her hubby Bob playing their favorite golf courses. When at home Donna loves to cook, work on her house renovations and she loves her daily walks with her two adorable Pugs, Wembley and Chelsea.

Jeannie and her son Brendon moved back to Victoria after living in Sonoma County for 16 years. While in California, Jeannie worked in the golf industry in many roles such as Food & Beverage Assistant Manager, On-course Players' Assistant, Golf Tournament Co-ordinator and then later as Sales and Events Coordinator.
Jeannie started at VGC in September of 2005 as part of our Administration team. She was promoted to Sales and Events Manager in 2008.
She is often the first face that Members and their guests see when they arrive at VGC. Jeannie is an avid golfer and enjoys every opportunity to play with staff or Members. She does her best to make memorable experiences for all those who come to the Club.
Lucy Reniger

Lucy moved with her family to Victoria from Northern B.C. During high school, and for many years after, she worked in the restaurant business in Victoria. We were lucky enough to have her join our team in 1986 in the Food and Beverage department. Legend has it she can still make a delicious clubhouse sandwich!
After 8 years of loyal service, she accepted a promotion to our administration office where you will find her smiling face and welcoming presence to this very day. Lucy has worked in all areas of the office and is an essential part of the management team. She is currently the payroll administrator but is still involved in many other areas of the administration and Member services.
On her time off, Lucy enjoys gardening, hiking and camping with her husband and two pups. They also love to vacation somewhere warmer during the winter when possible.
Susan Klemola

A shining star in the office as our Controller, Susan has been with the Club since 2008. After spending 25 years in a corporate environment she is very happy to be working in the community where she has lived in for 25 years and where she raised her family.
Her quiet manner and quick wit allow her to fit in well with her co-workers. Sue and the girls have enjoyed taking advantage of the staff golf, playing a few holes after their working day when time allows. Susan is a world traveler and loves to scuba dive. Her travels include Egypt, Nepal, Italy & the Mediterranean. Her favorite dive spot so far is Fiji.

You can title Katie's time at VGC as “The Endless Summer”. She landed a summer job at VGC in July of 1984 and enjoyed it so much that she has been here nearly three decades!
Katie, who moved to Victoria from Prince George after graduation in 1983, started as a server and now holds the Banquet & Dining Manager/Event Coordinator position. Her excellent customer service and careful attention to detail ensures our events are always a huge success.
In her personal time Katie enjoys cooking, learning to play golf and taking daily walks.

Born and raised in Victoria, Christina has been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. The last five she has been at the Victoria Golf Club - serving, bartending, supervising, and becoming indispensable to our Food & Beverage department.
Currently a Business student at Camosun College, Christina is pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration. In 2011 she was awarded the Val Mason Scholarship from the Canadian Society of Club Managers.
In her free time she likes to hike and work out, and has recently developed a passion for decorating her condo.
